Feng Shui Elephant Tips

For good luck, protection and strength to the household, place a statue of an elephant, or a pair of elephants, at the front door.

When elephants are used in such a way, they are referred to as "Elephants of Many Blessings."

These elephants should have their trunks facing upwards as that represents prosperity, good luck and victory, although elephants with their trunks facing downward represent longevity and conception.

The direction of the trunk can affect the chi within the space, so it is important to choose an elephant that will bring about the energy you wish to have in your household or office.

Elephants also assist in keeping the powers that you attract inside the house. The elephants act as gatekeepers as they guard the door, keeping the powers safely inside. One could think of them as a wall of security, safeguarding the prosperity good feng shui--and ultimately, good chi--that has been brought about in the home.

Elephants displayed in the bedroom promote love and faithfulness between those who sleep in that room. The statues can also be placed in a study or office to enhance the love of a couple. If you work with your partner in life, it would be beneficial to place such elephants in the office, as the stress of work should be counteracted by the bond created by the elephant placement.

The love between monther and child can be strengthened by using a statue of a mother elephant and its baby.

Elephants are also a symbol of fertility that can be used to bring about conception. When seeking to conceive, elephant statues should be placed in the bedroom of the hopeful parents. In feng shui, the number seven represents children and as such, often a statue or a group of seven elephants is used in the bedroom for fertility. A statue of a mother and baby elephant can be used to represent fertility.

Another feng shui application of these magnificent creatures is using elephant symbols to bring knowledge and academic success to children. Placement of a statue in a child’s bedroom, on the desk, or wherever he or she does homework can improve grades and overall academic aptitude.

Depending upon the material the symbolic elephant is made of, it can be used within a specific environment to achieve the proper balance of elements. Elephants that are holding or supporting an object, such as a crystal, can also be used to balance the elements based on the object they are holding.

To promote career stability, place a statue of a frog on an elephant or a monkey on an elephant in the North of your office.

The elephant is a sacred animal in many Asian cultures and is often regarded as the most wondrous creature ever created. It is greatly admired throughout the world and can be found in home decor, childrens toys, and clothing, among other consumer products.
